Hey!! Y'all probably heard a little bit about how our excursion went yesterday. We made it back safe and sound last night, but my Sidekick didn't have a drop of juice left in her and I just finally got to charge up.
We mI don'I'd sti[...] How's Prescott holding up under the weight of more danger excitement?
No one even got pushed off a billboard! Though the Christmas carols were a little less jolly on the way back.
Oh good. I don't doubt there's some good ideas being thrown around, though I'm at a complete loss at what the smartest and safest thing to do right now is. Y'all've got a whole bunch of smart folks there, though!!
[...] We might have to postpone our date [...] by just a day or two.
I think the only thing we've agreed on so far is warning all the locals and offering them a place to hunker down, if they want it. How about you folks over there?
Yeah. I'm sorry. I feel like I jinxed it or something.
Well that's at least a good thing to agree on! I really admire how focused y'all are on just [...] other folks, you know? All I know about over on our side of the Quad is that Mara ain't about to move out without a fight, and we're camped in a parking lot right off 406. [...] But we're figuring out a plan!!
Aw heck, how could you have jinxed it? This crowd's been moving for at least a couple days, at least a full twenty-four hours before we confirmed our date.
We'll keep it in mind if it really comes down to it, but if y'all got locals coming in to bunk with you then another nine mouths to shelter and feed seems like a heck of a burden. [...] We're used to squeezing in together and making do. Just gotta get everything inside the stadium.
Oh gosh, I wouldn't call that stupid! You know how many silly superstitions I run through on a daily basis? [...] And it's not like everything's ruined. At least now we know it's a date we're rescheduling and not just a hangout. [...] A date I'm still really looking forward to.
Now make sure you and yours are staying safe around here now, you hear? You Prescott folks are all over this place, I think I got more rights to worry than you!
We will!! [...] It can be hard not to feel like a little bit of a burden after the tenth or so group in a year told y'all to get a move on, but I'm getting attached to this area. And the folks.
If any danger gets too close, I'll kindly let it know I got a date with a smarthandsomebraveimpressivethe first guy to make me feel this tied up in knots in cute charming doctor and I'll just have to take a rain check, thank you very much.
You're not, though. The folks are good here. They'd better be nice to you, or I'll k give 'em a stern talking to. Prescott took me in too, though, so y'know, I kind of understand the feeling of "Wow I really gotta make 'em feel like I'm worth keeping around".
And I'll tell them I've got a date with a brilliant, talented, kindhearted artist, so no thank you to anything that'll delay that further.
As an aging actor, boy do I know about trying to keep up with the kids these days. What kinda doctoring were you up to before Prescott called your name?
I mightily appreciate it. I also appreciated the heck out of the granola bar the next morning.
Ooh, Legos are a deadly weapon! Thank the Lord you survived it!!
I was an attending trauma surgeon at Harbourview in Seattle. Before that, I was still in Chicago, but [...] a long-term thing with a playwright went South (I think I mentioned Theatre Guy at some point) and I needed a break from the ol' hometown for a bit. Then I was also with a Doctors Without Borders kinda thing on and off, volunteering where needed in danger zones elsewhere in the world (vaccinated people, fixed land mine and shrapnel injuries, all that jazz). What about you? What kind of acting were you up to? Did you only do stage or did you do screen, too?
I'm glad! I'm also glad you didn't see me the next morning. Someone grabbed my tent, so I slept out on the ground and I looked and felt like it.
I did! The trials and tribulations of being a parent never cease!
Holy moly, that's a lot of impressive stuff!! Honestly sounds like we're all pretty lucky you showed up when you did. [...] Even you being on the west coast and in a place that needed someone with your skills feels like it was meant to be, for better or worse!!
Oh I'm a stage actor through and through. Coulda spotted me in a couple commercials or background nonsense because it's expensive as heck to live in LA, but I always went back to the theater!! Wasn't exactly a Shakespearean, but I did a season with the Travelling Lantern (when we did Midsummer!) and [...] came back to an empty apartment, so I signed right back up for another season on the road! Haha!
Oh noooo, I'm sorry I took you away from the tent!! We probably coulda sheltered you in a car, but honestly the ground mighta been better for your back.
Well, thank you! I hope I've been more of a help than a hindrance!
Yeah, I'd kinda figured you were a stage guy through and through—you just have the right kind of gravitas, you know? [...] Sorry to hear about the empty apartment, but I'm glad you're here instead of stuck in LA! Maybe it's also meant to be! Maybe you're right where you needed to be.
That's all right, the ground humbles you. Memento Mori, and all that fun stuff!
Yeah, just the one. She's 23, a nurse. Smart as a whip. I had her when I was a stupid med student, then me and her mom amicably split because of course we did. So don't worry, she's not like, a child-child or anything. What about you? Any family? What about your polyc
You know, I do kind of feel like I wound up where I'm supposed to be. Never coulda picked Whitney Junction out on a map before, but now it's [...] basically home.
It's incredible y'all are here together!! Not that this is the most ideal place to be (that might be Antarctica at this point?), I just imagine it's [...] nice to know she's okay.
No kids over here! Got two sisters and a brother, and all them are married with kids and living in Georgia, giving my folks that grandchild tax! [...]Not that I've hea One of my sisters is a minister and pops is a retired minister so I'm sure they're toiling away doing the good works down Savannah way.
I'm glad! It suits you. You were born to be the main attraction!
Yeah, it IS nice. I'd be worried sick if I didn't know where she was. I'm worried sick now too, but at least she's right there where I can see her.
Wow, big family! And you're the only one that got bit by the acting bug? My mom and dad are still in Chicago [...] if they're still alive. They owned a restaurant. I'm an only child, so guess who got to shoulder the burden of all their hopes and dreams?
I think the acting bug is a byproduct of the preaching bug, just with more homosexual tendencies. Heck, my brother's even a teacher and coach, seeming like most of us like to get up in front of a crowd.
Did you become a doctor for them? Or did they want you to carry on the family business?
[...] And I have to believe they're all still alive. Maybe one day we'll even get confirmation of that!
Nah, you deserve all the praise. You're a delight!
You're a whole gaggle of extroverts! I'm honestly kind of the opposite—I had to try really hard to be more outgoing. I still kinda hate public speaking, even though there are instances where I have to do it.
They moved to America with the shirts on their backs and a nickel in their collective pockets, etc etc etc the usual, so you'd better believe they wanted to force encourage their only son to be a doctor. They always said I was their retirement plan, but. Well....
Maybe they're all still alive out there but it's doubtf! It's a huge country! Maybe Mama Kostopoulos is still out there, running some kinda souvlaki mafia on Chicago's South Side!

I don't know. I think I just worried that if I called it something, everything would go wrong, and then it did? I know that's stupid.
I'm just glad you're safe. That's the most important thing here.

Me too. I'm excited. The light at the end of this zombie-infested tunnel. Neither of us is allowed to die before then, all right?
We'll be okay. I'll be fine. I'm pretty much indestructible at this point.

Who among us hasn't lost their dang mind at some point? Please know I didn't judge you. Shit happens. And I'm here to help when it does.
