It's not silly at all, and I wouldn't just say that! Before human beings had even left the caves, we were painting on walls. I truly believe that art is VITAL, and so is the work you do! Besides, it's far from your only skillset. You can be important AND have a pretty face! Decades from now, the art you make is what people are going to remember, since it's what helped them get through a dark time. Oscar Wilde once described the theatre as "the greatest of all art forms; the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being." It's important to remain in touch with our humanity. It builds community, and it brings us together.
